ART

The study of textures, spaces, and places with the hand and the eye is very important to me. I chronicle the places I see as I travel in a journal filled with many small vignettes such as the ones above. These drawings not only capture a memory of what a place looked like but also haw a place felt to me in a given moment. They are more valuable to me than any photograph. Additionally, I work with illustrating the abstraction of materials and textures by altering them with light and looking at them particularly closely. Both of these combined efforts have informed my view and practice of architecture over my years in architecture school.
